In order to achieve the target set at the start of the season, our Community Champion's, will invite members of the community who would not normally get chance to attend games. We want to, especially but not exclusively, reach out to families affected by illness, and disability & children living in disadvantaged areas of the North West. We want corporations to help us invest in young people’s futures. Together we can inspire them to achieve new goals in their life, from playing sports to working in business; we want to show them that there are opportunities out there for them to be successful.
Our team currently plays in the English Premier Ice Hockey League, of which, they are the current champions for the 2013/14 season. The Manchester Phoenix is looking for Corporations & Business’s to work in partnership with one of the fastest growing spectator sports in the UK and England’s best Ice Hockey team.
As a Community Champion you will be able to invite 50 disadvantaged members of the community to each home game held at the Altrincham Ice Dome during the 2014/15 season. This is a total of 1,500 people able to attend an evening of entertainment courtesy of YOU. The attendees will be seated in the Community Champions block which will be sponsored by you. The Manchester Phoenix Community Sports Foundation are already in contact with many groups in need and would be able to help source Community groups and organisations to attend the games.
"The Manchester Phoenix are the current champions of the English Premier Ice Hockey League..."
When becoming a member of the Community Champions you will have the opportunity to maximize your impact on the Community. Your Organisation can immerse its selve in the project as much or as little as they want. For example staff may always attend the game as Chaperon's & Marshalls and sit within the Community Champions block. This will allow for community hours to be reached by working with the children directly and for them to see the success of your efforts.
"Immerse yourself in the project, become a community champion..."
On match night, your guests will arrive and are given an educational fact sheet. The fact sheet allows your guests to learn about the Manchester Phoenix, and also your business.
They will then have the opportunity after the game to complete an online quiz which will be about the fact sheet in order to win free tickets for their family to come to watch the Manchester Phoenix. There invite will again come on behalf of your company.
The Manchester Phoenix Community Sports Foundation was created to bring sport to the whole community especially those affected by physical, emotional or economic difficulties.
"On match night, your guests will arrive and are given an educational fact sheet, which gives advice on problems they may face in their community, along with fun facts about the Manchester Phoenix and your business..."
This season the Foundation would like to make a bigger impact by introducing the Community Champions as well as continuing to support non-profit organisations like The Heroes Project, Children in Need, Hearts & Mind Foundation and the Manchester Children's Hospital.
