OUR DRUGS CAMPAIGN
The Foundation will be holding small seminars, which will be open to everyone. A brand new roadshow team with trained staff and players will be going out to schools and helping children "Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life".

We will be asking each child to sign a pledge for the foundation:
As a Drug Free Kid, I pledge to lead the way by:
In return each child that signs the pledge will get a family ticket to come and watch the drug-free Phoenix in action. The foundation is also going to ask all of its partners to sign a pledge as well:
We, the undersigned, hereby recognise our concern over the growing drug problem amongst the youth of the North West of England and pledge our support to the "Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life" programme and agree to speak out publicly whenever possible to encourage young people to "Say No to Drugs". Further, we ask the elected leaders of this county and others in positions of influence to join with us in support of this ideal by encouraging young people everywhere to lead drug-free lives.

The foundation will be looking for commercial partners and local organisations that will help provide support for the "Say No to Drugs" seminars and roadshows so we may visit children from schools in deprived areas of Manchester and invite them and their teachers to watch the Phoenix play live.
At each chosen game the children will be given a "Say No to Drugs" t-shirt from the directors and staff of the partner, which will have the name and lgo of the company or organisation upon it. We will also be providing all the schools that participate with a large array of posters and booklets, which will explain the truth about drugs.
We are hoping to be able to put 1500 children and their families through this element of the foundation’s activities in the next twelve months.

ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
The Roadshows cover a myriad of topics, including healthy eating and diets, bullying, drug abuse and environmental awareness while highlighting the national curriculum. The Roadshow is run and presented by our players and match night crew, and comes complete with backdrop, PA system, LCD screens, video modules, interactive slides and physical activity equipment.
The Manchester Phoenix Ice Hockey Club, along with its partners, also makes sure that the participants and their families that have never seen the Phoenix play can come and have a great night out, and all for free. This event has not only proved to be of great educational value to the Schools and children, but lots of fun. Many, many schools already have this event in their calendar. Our aim this year is to put 1500 children, plus their families, through this element of the foundation’s activities in the next twelve months.
