NEW FEATURES
New for this year is our Learn To Play program. We will be visiting shopping centres, car parks, schools and clubs all across the region.
Our giant inflatable hockey rink, complete with equipment, will allow thousands of children to participate in street hockey.
Utilising our playing staff to coach and encourage the children to participate in live sport, small knock-out tournaments will be held all over the North West.
When we recently visited Wythenshawe their local rivals, the boys and girls from Benchill, proved to be just too strong for the home kids.
The best of these individuals is then asked to progress through to our indoor roller hockey programme, where they can take part in a six-week basic training program before being introduced to local roller hockey teams.
The best of these youngsters will earn a place in the Manchester Phoenix Academy, where these lucky youngsters will have all their equipment, coaching and ice time paid for by one of our community partners.
The Manchester Phoenix Ice Hockey Club, along with its partners, also makes sure that the participants and their families that have never seen the Phoenix play can come and have a great night out, and all for FREE.
We are hoping to be able to put 1500 children and their families through this element of the foundation’s activities in the next 12 months.

ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
The Roadshows cover a myriad of topics, including healthy eating and diets, bullying, drug abuse and environmental awareness while highlighting the national curriculum. The Roadshow is run and presented by our players and match night crew, and comes complete with backdrop, PA system, LCD screens, video modules, interactive slides and physical activity equipment.
The Manchester Phoenix Ice Hockey Club, along with its partners, also makes sure that the participants and their families that have never seen the Phoenix play can come and have a great night out, and all for free. This event has not only proved to be of great educational value to the Schools and children, but lots of fun. Many, many schools already have this event in their calendar. Our aim this year is to put 1500 children, plus their families, through this element of the foundation’s activities in the next twelve months.
